Toxic Baby

You're first in line,
I've come to grips,
to build me up, then use your fists.
Valentine, your blood turns quick.
You loved me like a jihadist.
And now, my toxic baby
let's go swimming in the Charles
'til we get sick.
The plans we're making,
we'll go out and kiss the town
with nauseous lips.
A lesson in complacency.
We danced so close,
so faithlessly.
You bounce back fast,
like a trampoline.
I'm not dead to you,
I'm dead to me.
And now,
my hands are shaking.
Let's get tattoo broken hearts
on both our wrists.
We act so crazy,
they'll tell stories of our love
to therapists.
And now, my toxic baby
all the moonbeams in your mouth
were just a trick.
The plans we're making,
we'll go out and kiss the town
with nauseous lips.

Does it get old?
Do you feel a purpose
on the path that leads you here?
You do what you're told,
maintain a surface.
But your eyes are red and blurry
and you're mad enough to go.
But I know
that you don't care.
And you worry just to worry
It's over in a hurry.
I let go
cause you're not there.
And you worry just to worry.
It's over in a hurry.
How did it go?
Was it all worth it?
Did the space make things more clear?
I don't wanna know.
Amazing.
Perfect.
I'm infatuated, honey.
Did you do it just for show?
Make me understand.

Punch A Nazi In the Face
03:39
|
|||
The marchers piled out of Park St. Station
to go and see the sad and vile parade.
You felt a little nervous
with the sign that you had made
but it's fine, it's alright, it's ok.
They cordoned off the streets
in anticipation.
We took the hill and waited in the shade.
By the statue dedicated
to the sailors and the saints.
And we lost our minds that day.
The world's not gonna change
with peace and love and empty, sad cliches.
But I shouldn't be surprised,
as we pushed to reach the stage.
You said finally felt like things could change.
Spoke to me of apathy and frustration.
Protesting online is such a waste.
As we spilled into the Common
where the horses stirred and paced
And your eyes burned bright with rage.
The world's not gonna change.
The streets were running red with anarchists.
But I thought I heard you laugh
As you jumped into the fray.
You said let's punch some nazis in the face.
You said let's punch some nazis in the face.
You said
This time
We'll change.

Pony Boy

Here we are
Here again
It’s always the same
Nothing is
or ever was
Really there
I heard a tiny voice
inside my head
it’s said it’s over
I couldn’t answer back
I took it’s word and
I kept on going
I held an ember for you
the fire grew
I was laughing through it
I’m just your wasted youth
I’m never there
I’m always searching
I’ll be your pony boy
I’ll always find a way to hurt you
I make a terrible friend
I’m never there
I’m always searching
Make believe
live your life
The way you wanted
Not age defined
Unsatisfied
to the grave
I heard a tiny voice inside my head
it said to grow up
I said go fuck yourself
I’m not a part
of all this ruin
I held an ember for you
and the fire grew
I was laughing through it
I’m just your wasted youth
I’m never there
I’m always looking
I’ll be your pony boy
I’ll always find a way to hurt you
I make a terrible friend
I’m never there
I’m always looking in
I’m never happy
I’m never there
I’m never happy
I’m never there

Our Vile Body
04:28
|
|
||
Bury me at sea.
Weigh me down by my feet.
Because I can’t trust you to leave,
and let me sink til I can’t breathe.
I can’t breathe.
Drowning inside of my skin.
We’ll never walk this way again.
Justice is served in the end.
We’ll never walk this way again.
Cut me off at the knees.
Drag me out into the street.
Because I can’t trust you to see,
the person crawling back is not me.
It’s not me.
